2012 Scholarship Guidelines

1. Procedures

a. ABC Summer Bonanza Jackpot Show Scholarship will be awarded annually or at the discretion of the Board of Directors for ABC Summer Bonanza Jackpot Show.
b. ABC Summer Bonanza Jackpot Show Scholarship will consist of two $ 1,000.00 scholarship.

2. Criteria

a. Applicant must be the child of a beef producer, or be directly engaged themselves in the production or promotion of beef cattle.
b. Applicant must be a member of a local and/or state beef organization, or 4-H or FFA state organization.
c. Applicant must be currently a senior in high school, or no older than 21 years of age as of January 1, 2012, and enrolled for the fall semester in a two or four year college.
d. Applicant’s major may vary. However, preference will be given to a major in agriculture.
e. Applicant must be maintaining a 2.75 or higher grade point average.
f. Applicant must show in the 2012 ABC Summer Bonanza Jackpot Show to be eligible for the scholarship.
g. Applicants are eligible to reapply each year.

3. Method of Application

a. Application forms are available upon request from Kim Krietz, 11311 Cash Smith Road, Keymar, MD 21757 or by calling 301-748-0280.
b. Application form must be completed and returned to Kim Krietz, 11311 Cash Smith Road, Keymar, MD 21757 by June 1, 2012.
c. Offical current high school or college transcript must be received at the same address by June 1, 2012.
d. Applicant must submit three Letters of Recommendations from outside sources to Kim Krietz, 11311 Cash Smith Road, Keymar, MD 21757, which will be used to evaluate the applicant by the Board of Directors for ABC Summer Bonanza Jackpot Show Committee by June 1, 2012.
e. All Documents ( Applications, Letters of Recommendations, and Transcripts) are to be sent together by the applicant to the above address.

4. Selection Process

a. ABC Summer Bonanza Jackpot Show’s Board of Directors will review all applications and will have the option to interview applicants if desired.
b. Selection of the Scholarship recipients will be announced during the 2012 show.

5. Method of Distribution

a. Scholarship check will be made payable to the scholarship recipient and the college they are attending and sent to College prior to the fall semester of 2012.
